Coffee is definitely an essential for many Filipinos - myself included. Although hindi naman ako ganun ka-picky with my coffee but wouldn't it better mga ka-grocery moms knowing na ang kapeng iniinom natin is 100% local, directly sourced from Filipino farmers across the country? That's exactly why Lokal Coffee was created. Isa ang Lokal Coffee sa mga brands na available sa The Red Basket, an Asian online store that was formed during the pandemic primarily to help some small businesses including local farmers in utilizing digital technology to sell their products. I was able to try their Sagada Coffee Arabica Blend and Batangas Coffee Barako Blend, both in grounds. I've got to say that I enjoyed the Batangas coffee more as it has a strong taste and intense flavor. Perfect sya for morning pick-me-ups. If you're interested to try their selection of locally-sourced coffee beans and grounds, plus other essential Asian grocery items, you may visit The Red Basket on Facebook or follow them at @theredbasketph on Instagram.

I'm a habitual coffee drinker since coffee lang talaga ang nakakatulong sa akin na maging alive and awake para magawa ko ang mga dapat kong gawin. I'm sure marami sa inyo mga ka-grocery moms ang nakaka-relate. Although I didn't really consider myself picky with my coffee. Okay na ako sa mga 3-in-1 coffee mixes, as long as it has strong coffee flavor and not as creamy. Not until, I received a Grind & Brew Kit as a birthday gift - complete with coffee bean grinder & French Press. I watched several videos on how I can brew the best coffee using the two devices. I must say that there is something about the process of brewing your own coffee that makes every cup special. Yes, mas ma-trabaho sya compared sa instant coffee. Each serving naman is cheaper especially kung ikaw yung tipo na regular talagang bumibili ng kape sa mga coffee shops, plus you get to customize the taste. Of course, when brewing coffee, we need coffee beans or grounds. To my surprise, ang dami palang mapagpipiliang mga premium coffee beans and grounds sa SM Hypermarket .
